MetroCommon x 2050

Role: Lead Designer

Partners: Digital Services, Principle Designers, Community Engagement

  • MetroCommon is MAPC’s regional plan update for Greater Boston and will affect the agency’s work for the next 10 years.

The overall branding for MetroCommon 2050 was created by design firm Objective Subject, which was then translated and implemented across all media.

  • Through various focus groups and conversations about what the goal of this product would be, this ‘digital hub’ will serve the agency and the Greater Boston area as the main form of communication and engagement in the planning process. The site should be an interactive tool that users can engage with.

  • n order to guide the plan, the agency needed community input and voices from the region. To do this, the Community Engagement team held open houses around the region to talk to residents.

Each open house had stations and activities for residents to interact with. As the lead designer, I worked with Community Engagement to make these activities real along with designing the various event spaces.
